Bruce Highway (Maryborough to Gin Gin) Safety Upgrades (M2GG)
Project Scope
Bruce Highway (Maryborough – Gin Gin), preconstruction and design work for priority safety improvements including five sections of WCLT totaling 18 km between Torbanlea and Gin Gin (Ch. 1km to 111km), two high crash intersection upgrades included in the WCLT delivery at Top End Mines Road intersection and Bundaberg-Childers Road intersection, a heavy Vehicle Rest Area at Gin Gin and 50 km of various safety upgrades.
What we did
- Josh and Kathryn were integral to securing a critical project for SMEC, playing key roles in the successful bid. Josh provided expert strategic advice on win strategies, while Kathryn was tasked with writing 24 detailed CVs, which accounted for 60% of the evaluation weighting. Additionally, both Josh and Kathryn took on win strategy workshops participation and submission review roles, ensuring SMEC’s responses effectively addressed the evaluation criteria and that the win strategy was clearly communicated throughout.
- Although SMEC was not initially considered the front-runner among the three invited design firms, the team communicated SMEC’s key differentiators to successfully secure the detailed design package for TMR, marking a business critical achievement for the company securing long term program of works for SMEC’s Roads and Transport team.
